FAQ

Good questions, straight answers

Everything people ask before their first class at La La Pilates — and a few things they ask after. Can't find your answer? Email info@lalapilates.co.uk.

Getting started

Is reformer Pilates suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. We run dedicated Beginner Group Classes, and every class is capped at 4 people so your instructor can set your springs, straps and pace personally. Private sessions are also available if you'd rather start one-to-one.

What's the difference between reformer and mat Pilates?

Mat Pilates uses your body weight on the floor; reformer Pilates uses a sliding carriage and springs. The springs can both support you and challenge you, which makes the reformer especially good for beginners and for targeting specific muscles precisely.

What should I wear and bring?

Leggings or shorts and a fitted top you can move in — nothing baggy that could catch in the springs. Grip socks must be worn for all sessions — any socks with grips on the sole. Otherwise just bring yourself and a water bottle.

How early should I arrive?

About ten minutes before your first class. That gives us time to set your reformer up, talk through any injuries and show you the machine before the class starts.

Do I need to be fit or flexible already?

No. The reformer meets you where you are — springs and settings adjust every exercise to your level. Strength and flexibility are what you build here, not what you need to arrive with.

Booking & pricing

How do I book a class?

Through our Momence booking page or the Momence app. For a specific private session time, email info@lalapilates.co.uk and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

How much do classes cost?

New clients start with the Intro Offer — 3 classes for £60, one per person. After that: single classes are £25, a 3 Class Pack is £69, 5 Classes £109 and 10 Classes £199 — the 5 and 10 packs include a £5 discount code to share with a friend. Private sessions and gift vouchers are booked through Momence or by email.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes — e-gift vouchers through Momence, or contact us by email or Instagram and we'll arrange one.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel or reschedule at least 12 hours before your class or private session starts and the class credit returns to your account. Cancellations made within 12 hours of the start time, and no-shows, result in the loss of the credit.

Can I book a private session for a group?

Yes. Private sessions run from 1:1 up to 1:4 — £35 for 1:1, £65 for 1:2, £87 for 1:3 and £108 for 1:4. Select the ticket tier that matches your group size; they're listed with the group classes on Momence, or email for a specific date and time.

The studio

Where is La La Pilates located?

Inside House of NAF at 19 Elmbank Street, Glasgow, G2 4PB — in the city centre near Charing Cross, with easy access on and off the M8.

Is there parking or a train station nearby?

There's on-street parking on Elmbank Street and Charing Cross Car Park is a 2-minute walk (check parking charges). Charing Cross Station is 3 minutes on foot, Glasgow Central and Queen Street are a short walk, and Cowcaddens and St George's Cross Subway stations are close by.

How many people are in a class?

4, maximum — the studio has 4 Align-Pilates reformers and that's the whole room. It keeps every class personal.

Health & injuries

Is Pilates good for back pain?

Reformer Pilates is widely used to build the deep core and postural strength that supports the spine, and many members join on a physiotherapist's advice. Tell us about any pain when you book and we'll adapt every exercise.

I have an injury — can I still come?

Usually yes, with adaptations. Mention the injury when you book and arrive a little early so we can talk it through. For recent injuries or rehab, a private session is often the best starting point.

Can I do reformer Pilates while pregnant?

Please get in touch before booking. Depending on your stage, your experience and your midwife or GP's advice, we'll recommend the safest option — often a private session where everything can be tailored to you.
